Phantasy Guild

So this is a guild for people to discuss literature. This is specifically aimed to readers and lovers of literature. And, the name of the guild is not a mispelling.


*You can only become an S-Class when you're one of the first three to join or one of the highest contributors in the guild.

Hmm. Literature huh. Well I'm not much of a reader but I still want to join. Haha! Can I?

Of course you can. The use of this guild is to discuss literature and contribute anything literature related. You can ask members tips about literature and anything of the like.

Sign me up! I hope people of this forum will also like discussing about literature. Well, but I think the name is kind of... weird. Anyway, when I find a good name, I might start a guild also. And you are required to join, since I joined this guild.

Alright. The name is actually a variant of fantasy. I just purposely changed it spelling. We all know that literature is full of fantasies of people. And another thing, only English language is allowed in the forum.

Alright. I'll allow just this once since it's a foreign language anyway. Just put it on your signature though. But, if other members complain, I would have to take action.

Yes. That's what I said. But, it would look better if you put it on your signature since every of your post has it. That way, you would need not to type the whole quote all over again.

Alright. It's up to you. Back on topic, what types of novels do you guys like and why?

I like fantasy and science fiction because they are out of this world and unique. I don't like real life stories or stories that are close enough to being real life. I want something extravagant (not literal meaning) and something not of this world.

I like reading books, a lot. But I think, fiction novels and yeah, sci-fi, and I think investigative interest me the most. Novels like the Potter Series, Sherlock Holmes, The Wizard of Oz and many more. Classic literature catches me also. Romeo and Juliet and The Phantom of the Opera are one of my favourites. Anyway, classic books bring me headache and nosebleed, especially Shakespeare's.

I'm not really a fan of Shakespeare's works. I don't even get why people treat him as if he's the best writer in the whole world. I read a poem of his and I say that it's not that good. I could actually say that it's far worse than I imagined. The sentence structure is poorly lame and it doesn't even meet the melodic patterns of a poem.

Him using Old English words is not a valid reason to honor him as a great writer. He probably is just considered as the best writer because during his time, only few were into writing, leaving him with few competition. Heck, I prefer I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud and Harry Potter than his works.

God! How can someone be this harsh? Well, maybe for you. But for me, he is one of the best. And for your information, I am not treating him as if he was the best writer in the whole of universe. Based on structure, he was not good, but what I am looking at is the story. But to top it all, I still think no one beats JK.

Indeed. J.K. is good at both structure and story. Well, I can take your reason about Shakespeare validated since structure wasn't really a necessity for stories back then but now a professional writer means professional at these two things. From what I've heard of rumors, he is the source of people's ideas becoming cliche due to them adopting most of his writing style which is not good.

Please accept the fact that Shakespeare lived at the old times. And as you said, it is not a necessity. So, he is saved. By the way, rumours are not proven to be true. They are just products of human opinions and judgment. And please don' t tell me you' ll be one of those.

I'm not one of those. Shakespeare did influence a number of comedy and romance writers due to his comedy works and Romeo & Juliet. I've read an article about him and it says that he was never revered or honored during his time unlike during the present time.

Been a while. So, what do you think of the romance Twilight books? I think it's pretty ridiculous, hard to imagine, and.....so, anyone?
